Honkai Star Rail 2.4 Leaks: All Character Banners Rumored (So Far) (2024)

The planned character banners for Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 have supposedly leaked, showing players what they can expect in terms of new units and reruns. Version 2.4 is the next major update for the popular turn-based RPG developed by HoYoverse, and the patch is expected to arrive in late July, according to the game’s regular schedule. The next update will move away from Penacony and its storyline, as Version 2.3 is the patch that brought forth the final main story quests in the Planet of Festivities, as well as the release of Firefly and Jade in Honkai: Star Rail.

HoYoverse has already confirmed three new playable characters in Version 2.4, including the 5-star units Yunli and Jiaoqiu, and the new March 7th form. Both 5-star characters will be from the Xianzhou Alliance, while March 7th’s new form will take on the Path of the Hunt after seemingly training on a Xianzhou flagship, as suggested by the style of her new attire. While the patch is still a few weeks away, there have been rumors about the upcoming content, including new Yunli leaks in Honkai: Star Rail 2.4, for instance. Now, the attention of leakers has shifted toward character banners.

Only 5-Star Characters Have Been Mentioned So Far

According to new information provided by the leaker known as Gura, which was shared on Reddit, the Version 2.4 character banners will have Yunli and Huohuo starring in Phase 1, while Jiaoqiu and Black Swan are set to appear in Phase 2. Gura has a track record for correct leaks and was accurate when sharing the leaked character banners in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3, for instance. Of course, the rerun characters and banner order are highly susceptible to change over the weeks leading up to the livestream, so the newest leak should be taken with a grain of salt, regardless.

New Character Could Also Become A Great DPS For Follow-Up Team Comps

If the leaks by Gura are true, however, players may be looking at a very promising Phase 1 structure in Version 2.4. Yunli is a new Physical character who follows the Path of the Destruction. Based on the leaks about Yunli’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail, she will be a specialist in punishing enemy attacks with her powerful follow-up counterattack. As such, the goal is to have opponents strike her so that she can retribute with a high amount of damage. With her, players may have a new main DPS for follow-up team comps, currently led by Dr. Ratio.

Version 2.3’s Phase 2 is seeing the release of Jade, who will operate as a new sub-DPS in these follow-up team comps, but when it comes to the main damage dealer, players only really have one option. Additionally, if they missed the free Dr. Ratio distribution, they may be unable to create a decent follow-up attack team. This is where Yunli may come in. With her rumored specialty in counters, Yunli may be a new alternative to Dr. Ratio, as well as a solid Physical DPS for those who do not have Argenti in Honkai: Star Rail, for instance.

On the other side of the same banner Phase is the rumor that Huohuo will finally rerun. The Xianzhou Alliance Foxian is, arguably, the best healer in the game. Not only does she provide a huge amount of HP restoration but she also provides Energy Regeneration and offensive buffs for her teammates. Huohuo is also capable of removing debuffs from her party, making her a reliable asset. Because she has never rerun and the roster continues to grow, this may be the best chance players get to pull for Huohuo in Honkai: Star Rail for a while.

Both Rumored Units Are Of The Nihility

In comparison, Phase 2 banners will serve a completely different purpose if the leaks are true. Jiaoqiu is confirmed to be a new Fire character who follows the Path of the Nihility. Though nothing about his abilities has been officially revealed, new rumors about Jiaoqiu’s leaked kit in Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 indicate that he will focus on applying debuffs that increase the damage that enemies receive. Additionally, rumors hint at him increasing the amount of Ultimate DMG suffered by opponents. If this is true, Jiaoqiu may become the best sub-DPS for Acheron, considered the best DPS in the game.

It is uncertain exactly how Jiaoqiu’s rumored kit will translate into actual gameplay value when compared to other traditional Nihility characters that assist Acheron, like Pela or Guinaifen, for instance. However, he is a 5-star unit, whereas the other two are 4-star characters, which could mean his damage scaling is optimized even further. The leaks about his gameplay abilities do sound promising and it seems like he was made to serve Acheron. However, he could be used in several other team comps in Honkai: Star Rail that have Ultimate DMG at the forefront of the main DPS’ damage output.

Black Swan, rumored to be the second rerun character for Version 2.4’s banners, is also a Nihility character, though she operates differently. Her main goal is to apply stacks of Arcana on enemies, making them suffer damage and gradually increasing the damage they sustain. Black Swan is best used as a sub-DPS in team comps that have Kafka as the DPS. However, she can also work as a sub-DPS for Acheron since Arcana counts as a debuff and fuels Acheron’s Ultimate. If the leaks are true, players may get two Nihility characters who serve Acheron in a single banner Phase.

As was previously mentioned, the rerun characters and the banner structure are highly subject to change, even if the leaks prove to be true. Nevertheless, the rumors do hint at a complicated patch, mainly due to the fact that players may have to make difficult choices when it comes to spending their Stellar Jade. The two new units seem extremely promising, with Yunli possibly being an alternative to Dr. Ratio’s supremacy and Jiaoqiu possibly becoming the best support for Acheron. On the other hand, the rerun characters are also well-established as must-pull units in Honkai: Star Rail.
