Paul Mescal is incredibly enjoyable inGladiator 2. He's charming and funny in a way that's similar to Crowe's performance, with enough variation to not just be a copy. However, I think due to the character's writing and the general dialogue, he wasn't given as many "moments" as Maximus had in the original. His speeches weren't great, and there's nothing that compares to the "My name is Maximus..."monologue.

As development continues on the Marvel Cinematic Universe-set reboot of the X-Menfranchise, fans continue to voice their picks for who should play the iconic mutant superhero team, including Rogue. While some minds may gravitate to the likes of Jenna Ortega or Millie Bobby Brown for the role, I'd personally be intrigued to see Mckenna Grace's take on the character, as she's not only shown an incredible acting range in the recentGhostbustersmovie andA Friend of the Family, but also an interesting mix of introverted and extroverted personalities with her characters that I think would suit Rogue perfectly. Additionally, given the MCU has recast actors in the past, Grace's prior role as a young Carol Danvers could easily be a non-issue.

Avengers: Secret Wars has the potential to feature a wide array of MCU and multiverse heroes. In order to defeat Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, many powerful heroes will have to team up, and that could include some pairings that fans have been waiting to see for a very long time. The superhero duo I most want to see is Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, as the two helped set the path for future Marvel movies. I'd also love to see Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man with a Spider-Woman version of Emma stone's Gwen Stacy, bringing their chemistry back.

Despite the Nun's underwhelming storytelling, the Conjuring franchise should continue and offer other rising filmmakers the chance to shine, as Annabelle: Creation did with David F. When Iron Man sacrifices himself and dies at the end ofAvengers: Endgame, it seems as though he likely met Lady Death herself, Aubrey Plaza's character who made her debut in Marvel's newAgatha All Alongseries. Coming from the original comics, Lady Death is the embodiment of death itself charged with guiding those who've crossed over to the other side. To that end, I think this means that Lady Death has been there for every major MCU death, including Iron Man's (though perhaps she doesn't always present herself so directly as she did with Alice Wu-Gulliver and Nicholas Scratch).

Is the Moana 2 soundtrack better after having watched the movie?

There is no doubt that the music in Moana 2 does not capture the same heart as the songs in the first movie. Lin-Manuel Miranda did the music for the first film, but because he is working on the music of Mufasa, Barlow and Bear stepped in to write the songs of the Moanasequel. While I do not think any of the songs are bad, some are catchier than others. Disney released the soundtrack before the film hit theaters, and many felt that the songs were just okay for the most part ("Beyond" and "Get Lost" are on a completely different level, though). After having watched the movie, the songs end up being a lot better. This is likely because I think back to the context in which they were used and understand certain decisions. The songs are very much growing on me, and my kids have them on repeat in the house.

During Marvel’s 2024 Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Doctor Doom in the MCU. Though Doctor Doom is a good replacement for Kang, Robert Downey Jr.’s casting has caused mixed reactions. I’m happy to see RDJ back in the MCU, but I might have a hard time seeing him as anyone but Iron Man. I hope Doctor Doom will be an Iron Man variant in the MCU rather than the franchise ignoring Robert Downey Jr.’s history as the superhero.
